Best International Trader
This award is open to any business that is based in Sedgemoor where importing and/or exporting goods is a significant part of the business in order to enter.
Judges will look for evidence that international trade has benefited your business through growth in sales that has improved profitability. They will be interested in how your business has overcome barriers and your future strategy.
Best New Business Award
The Best New Business Award recognizes Sedgemoor’s highest performing new Businesses start up.
To be eligible for this award, your business must have been trading for no more than two years from the date which the application was submitted, under the same name and be based in Sedgemoor with your registered office within the following postcodes;
TA5, TA6, TA7, TA8, TA9, BS25, BS26, BS27 and BS28
You may be asked to provide proof of these details,
The business must demonstrate why they should be classed as the Best New Business for 2016 in the following category’s; the business plan, how targets have been met and exceeded and the vision and strategy for future success.
Community Engagement Award
This award is intended to recognise those organisations who can demonstrate having made a difference to the Sedgemoor community. This could be in the form of supporting disadvantaged groups or individuals, providing a service within the community or creating and maintaining strong community links through its work. Whether you are a charity, a local club or a business, the judges will be scoring entries based on the value you have added to the Sedgemoor community.
There is a bursary of £1000.00 available for the winner of this award to support their community projects.
Customer Service
The Customer Service Award recognizes a business that is committed to service excellence throughout the entire business.
This award is open to all businesses that can effectively demonstrate how service that is offered is to an impeccable standard to each and every customer. This award also acknowledges service based businesses that have made significant improvements to its service performance. Manufacturing businesses are eligible and may want to demonstrate service excellence by consistently meeting customer expectations with quality at the forefront of their businesses.
Best Family Business of the Year Award
The Best Family Business Award is intended to highlight most successful family run business of the year in Sedgemoor.
To be eligible for this award, your business must be based in Sedgemoor with your registered office within the following postcodes;
TA5, TA6, TA7, TA8, TA9, BS25, BS26, BS27 and BS28
The business must demonstrate why they should be classed as the Best Family Business of the Year 2016 in the following category’s; growth (including both financial and personnel), investment in staff, involvement within the local community, customer service, exports and innovation.
Independent Trader/Retailer of the Year
This award is intended to highlight most successful Independent Trader/Retailer of the year in Bridgwater in Sedgemoor.
To be eligible for this award, your business must be based in Bridgwater with your registered office within the following postcodes;
TA5, TA6, TA7, TA8, TA9
The business must demonstrate why they should be classed as the Independent Trader/Retailer of the Year 2016 in the following category’s; growth (including both financial and personnel), investment in staff, involvement within the local community, customer service, exports and innovation.
Large Business of the Year Award (50+ Employees)
The Best Business Award is intended to highlight most successful Businesses in Sedgemoor.

The Sedgemoor Business Award for Marketing and Promotion is designed to recognise a business that has implemented and/or adapted a Marketing strategy which has delivered quantifiable business benefits.
The Marketing and/or Promotion strategy could refer to a specific product or service or alternatively your business as a whole.
Micro Business of the Year Award (0-9 Employees)
The Best Business Award is intended to highlight most successful Businesses in Sedgemoor.

Young Entrepreneur of the Year
The young entrepreneur of the year award is intended to celebrate the achievement of a young person/group who can demonstrated creative and dynamic thinking to create significant impact on either their own business or working as part of a business.
Entrants for this award must be aged under 30 years old at the time of entering their application form. There is a bursary of £1000.00 available for the winner of this award to support their future business growth.
