You are entitled to submit up to five documents to support your application. Although not compulsory, we recommend applicants provide supporting financial information as one of the attachments. Attachments must be no bigger than 2MB; please email them to info@sedgemoorbusinessawards.org.uk with your business name in the subject line.

This award is intended to recognise the Hospitality & Tourism business that is the most successful in Sedgemoor. The business should explain what makes them stand out from other businesses, detailing how they attract customers to the area and describing a recent success story.

This award is intended to recognise an Independent Retailer or Trader in the Bridgwater Town who has done the most towards maintaining and enhancing the vitality and welcome of the Town Center offer. The business will have supported local initiatives, provide excellent customer service and have the ability to adapt to changing customer need

This new award for 2022 is intended to reflect the challenges and opportunities that businesses face in reducing their carbon footprint. Eligible business will need to demonstrate how they are meeting the challenges head on through innovation/adaption of their regular business process to reduce carbon output and improve their long term sustainability. Applicants should may demonstrate commitment through changes implemented and how this drives business decision making process.

This award is intended to recognise businesses who have introduced new innovative ideas to improve the performance of the business, helped their business to grow, offer new services and/or develop new types of working. The business will demonstrate a commitment to innovative ideas, digital technology and new ways of working, whilst having a clear strategy for implementing these technologies and investment in training.

This award will celebrate new and up-and-coming businesses that can demonstrate how they have turned an idea into a viable, sustainable business. The business will have been operating in Sedgemoor for less than three years, made achievements against their business plan and invested in their business.

This award is intended to recognise the Small Business (1-5 Employees) that is the most successful in Sedgemoor. The business should demonstrate why they should be classed as Small Business of the Year and what makes them stand out from other businesses, detailing past achievements, future plans, innovation and growth opportunities.

This award is intended to recognise those businesses who can demonstrate having made a difference to the Sedgemoor community. This could be in the form of supporting disadvantaged groups or individuals, providing a service within the community or creating and maintaining strong community links through its work. Whether you are a charity, a local club or a business, the judges will be scoring entries based on the value you have added to the Sedgemoor community.

Describe how you have been involved with the local community within the last year. This could include (but not limited to) community projects, sponsorship, training programs or working closely with charities *

The Family Business of the Year Award is intended to highlight the most successful family-run business in Sedgemoor. The business should have a shared vision across generations, an ability to adapt over time and through generations and have core family and business values.

This award is intended for businesses that can demonstrate providing an exceptionally high standard of customer service. The business will listen to customer feedback and if necessary implement new ways of working, effectively communicate with customers and invest in customer service training for staff.

The Business Person of the Year Award offers a unique opportunity to showcase the best innovators, leaders and entrepreneurs who have made a significant contribution to Sedgemoor. This award is aimed at individuals at all levels, from chairman of a large entity to sole trader. The contribution could be by way of improving financial performance, developing new products, developing people or it could just be something special he or she has brought to the business life of Sedgemoor. It could be someone who has fired the imagination by an innovative approach.
